I am 43 years old and have been a lifelong resident of the City and my family dates back to 1914 as Ravenna residents. I am married to my wife Dona who is very supportive of my City work and after hours meetings. We have one daughter Kara (16) who attends Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy who is growing up much too fast for an overprotective father like me.
Prior to my appointment as Mayor I work as the Vice President of Business Development for Applied Vision Corp. in Akron, Ohio. I was with Applied Vision since their inception in October of 1997. My background is in industrial automation, robotics and high speed imaging. I worked in the technical field from 1990 to 1997 specializing in industrial x-ray imaging. In 1997 my career path took a change into the sales and business development areas of high speed imaging. I travel extensively for business in the last 19 years and have had the very fortunate opportunity to have visited over 38 countries. With this extensive travel comes an appreciation for other cultures, opinions, beliefs and values. It also gives a very clear prospective on how fortunate we are here in the United States. I earned my undergraduate degree in business administration in 2003 and am currently working on completion of my masters in business administration from Kent State University in 2011.
I have a passion for the City of Ravenna and work every day to make it a better place to live and raise a family.
